Having just returned from a honeymoon in Hawaii, I was a tad bit surprised to see just how much negativity and fear there was on the airwaves in New England.
It's as if the Red Sox communityùtypically filled with naysayers, pessimists, and those on the brink of psychological breakdownùhas plagued the Patriots fanbase.
You'd like to think that a team and a quarterback which has been as successful as New England and ...
Casey McGehee has been the surprise of the team this season. á
Doug Melvin claimed the former Cubs prospect off waivers over the winter.
The 26-year-old played his way onto the team with a torrid spring training, in which he hit .328 with six home runs in only 27 games.
That success translated into a bench role with the big league club. Playing time was scarce, especially with the breakout April and May ...

The Detroit Lions' game this Sunday against the Washington Redskins is blacked out and will not be available to the television audience within 75 miles of Detroit.
Six of the Lions' past eight home games have been blacked out. This trend will continue.
On Thursday, the league mandated deadline to sell out stadiums, the Lions still had 10,000 unsold tickets. The team barley avoided a blackout last week for the Minnesota Vikings ...
After last week's thrilling comeback victory against the hated Tennessee Titans, the Texans return home to play division rival Jacksonville this Sunday. The good guys are hoping to win two in a row.
The Jaguars are 0-2 and coming off of a bad beating at home against the Arizona Cardinals. The Texans have been very good at home in the past two-plus seasons. The Texans should coast to a 2-1 start, ...
Huge changes in the rankings this week. Call me fickle, but I think it takes two weeks to see the real identity of several teams. To be sure, these rankings will most likely look absurd by week eight, but hey, you donÆt read these for the accuracy. WaitÃÂ
Sorry for takingá so long to get these up and that IÆm mailing these in more than Matthew Berry on his Fantasy Focus ...

The Detroit Red Wings are the odds on favorite by Vegas again to win the Stanley Cup at a moneyline of +450. The moneyline of +450 dollars means that is how much you win for every one hundred dollars you bet.
Now this doesnÆt mean the Red Wings are who they think will win it all, this just means it is the most popular bet, which is expected because it has ...
Titans Trying to Shake the Curse of the Terrible Towel
Posted: 25th September 2009 by David Law in NFL
For most of last season, the Tennessee Titans romped through their schedule, making mincemeat of their opposition with a stifling defense, punishing ground game and solid quarterback and special teams play. The Titans' dominance of the AFC never seemed clearer than after their Dec. 31 31-14 throttling of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
In their celebration, LenDale White and Keith Bullock showed their disdain for the Steelers by stomping on the Terrible Towel, ...

According to Anthony SanFilippo, the Philadelphia Flyers will waive defenseman Randy Jones either today or tomorrow. The move will clear up $2.75 million and will allow the Flyers to carry Blair Betts, Mika Pyorala and James van Riemsdyk.
If Jones clears waivers, heÆll be sent to the Adirondack Phantoms where heÆll play the 2009-10 season. His contract will not count against the cap. If a team claims him straight off waivers, ...
Nine Lives: Ways the Jacksonville Jaguars Can Kill Relocation Rumors
Posted: 25th September 2009 by Tim McClellan in NFL
It has been 15 years since the Jacksonville Jaguars took the field for the first time, but in many ways, they are still considered to be the new kids on the block.á Often dismissed, and mostly ignored, the Jaguars have lived their entire existence in relative obscurity as a result of being located in the smallest media market in the National Football League.
The only time the Jaguars get consistent attention ...
Not to rain on everyone's parade here but for all of those claiming the Saints are going to the promised land this season, relax, it's only week two. While all the national media is drooling over Drew Brees' absolutely ridiculous numbers and the Saints 2-0 start, most people have been starting to drown out the last 10 years.
Have the past 40 years not meant anything to every who dat fan? ...
