How To Beat The Hosts: Predictions For Week Three
Posted: 26th September 2009 by Stephen Bands in NFL
Last week was not as good as Week One. The Bengals played an amazing defensive game and crushed the Pack on their home turf.á Pittsburgh lost to the Bears (of all teams) after showing they still have no run game and then missing two field goals that could have tied and /or won the game.

All in all, we went 11-5 last week, if you followed my predictions, which isnÆt bad, ...
Better Chance To Make the Playoffs: Atlanta Braves or Minnesota Twins?
Posted: 26th September 2009 by Zeke Fuhrman in MLB
I love September.
The NFL kicks off. Hockey preseason is underway. College football is in full swing. There is no NBA action.
And there are baseball pennant races.
Well, kind of.
The New York Yankees (99-56)áhave a leadáof eightágames in the AL East, the Los Angeles Angels (90-63) have a six game lead in the AL West, the Boston Red Sox (91-63)áhave a seven game lead in the AL Wild Card, the Philadelphia Phillies ...
Cleveland Browns vs. Baltimore Ravens: Jamal Lewis and Phil Dawson Are Both Out
Posted: 26th September 2009 by Midwest Sports Fans in NFL
With the Cleveland Browns reeling at 0-2, and entering tomorrowÆs clash with Baltimore as prohibitive underdogs (13.5 points), Browns' fans have been expecting a long and perhaps demoralizing game on Sunday afternoon.
Now that two of the franchiseÆs most productive players this decade are not playing, the Browns chances of pulling off a shocking road upset look even more bleak.
Running back Jamal Lewis has been dealing with an injured hamstring and ...
The Great Canadian Hope: Who Has The Best Chance Of Hoisting The Cup
Posted: 26th September 2009 by Daniel Sallows in NHL
With the opening of the NHL regular season just a week away I thought it was a good time to make some predictions, even though I've been more miss then hit lately.
I thought I'd take a look at the Canadian clubs, and who might be the best hope to bring Lord Stanley's Mug back to the great white north.

Now that baseball has returned to Washington, and the Nationals have a new stadium and real hope for the future, it's time to proclaim once and for all that Baltimore is for the birds.
As a young man growing up in D.C., Baltimore was strictly "second-city." After all, Washington had NATIONAL Airport; Baltimore had Friendship Airport.
Our city was named after the man who won the Revolutionary War.
Their city was named ...
Ducks Surprisingly Shellac Sixth-Ranked Golden Bears
Posted: 26th September 2009 by Nick Poust in NFL
The Oregon Ducks entered their showdown against the California Golden Bears with a 2-1 record. In those three games, however, they struggled in the passing game, usually their area of expertise. Quarterback Jeremiah Masoli was behind their woes, throwing for just 379 yards, managing a measly 43 percent completion ratio, while failing to throw a touchdown pass.
Despite his ineffectiveness, the Ducks, thanks largely to their running attack, somehow scored 38 ...
After the most recent news out of Oakland was regarding the attempt to ban Rich Gannon from his duties with CBS, it opened up some questions in my mind.
When does a player, to the fans, stop being a Raider?
I'm not talking about the obvious ones. Randy Moss came in, opened the drawers, made a mess, and then pouted until the team shipped him and his ego out.
Some players, such as ...
Oakland Raiders to Start Michael Huff Against the Broncos; Should We Be Worried?
Posted: 26th September 2009 by Ramone Brown in NFL
Last season many Raider fans were calling Michael Huff a bust. And this offseason those same fans were calling for him to be cut from the roster.
Now, after coming into week three of the season, Huff has three interceptions, a fumble recovery, and a few tackles. A lot of those fans who were calling him a bust seem to have a short memory as they seem to have fallen in ...
Three Missed Calls Equal Five Runs In A’s Angels Tilt
Posted: 26th September 2009 by Steven Resnick in MLB
As the end of the regular season approaches and umpiring crews prepare for the post season, on close calls at any base, you would hope that the umpires would be getting better, not worse.
Let's hope the umpires in last night's A's Angels game don't make the post-season cut, because there were some controversial calls for sure.
In the game, there were two blatantly missed calls that cost the A's four runs. ...
